Villa San Paolo Resort & Spa Hotel San Gimignano comprises three buildings, the main of which is a 20th-century aristocratic villa, immersed in well maintained gardens and extensive parklands with century-old trees and in the greenery of the Tuscan hills near San Gimignano. The grounds extend to about 7.5 acres (3 hectares), at the center of which is the aristocratic villa, converted from a 1300s building.
The original architecture of the aristocratic house has been respected, resulting in an elegantly-furnished environment. Next to it is another building of late 19th century. The third building of the Resort, instead, is modern.

is a family-run, extremely highly-rated hotel as “Wonderful” in San Gimignano, 5 minutes’ walk from the very heart of the city’s historic center.
It’s not really your typical English B&B, although buffet-style breakfast is offered daily but you may choose whether to include it in the price or not. In Italy “bed and breakfast” can sometimes be used as a generic name for anything that is not a run-of-the-mill hotel. In this case, it’s a country hotel with an apartment for up to 2 guests.

San Gimignano is world famous for its white wine and Medieval architecture.
San Gimignano, founded in Medieval times, is a hill town in Chianti, in the heart of Tuscany, midway between Florence (north) and Siena (south – see map below).
It has a very characteristic, spectacular skyline, due to its walls and towers: 14 of its original 72 towers remain.
The economy of the independent city of San Gimignano was flourishing in the 11th century, which saw the start of the construction of its towers, that continued in the 12th and 13th centuries.
The towers of San Gimignano, dominating the valley, were built by rival noble families. They create one of the most distinctive and beautiful urban profiles in the world, looking from a distance like a castle in the sky.
The Duomo (cathedral) is also noteworthy.
The town is visible from a long distance, and it commands far-ranging views itself.
San Gimignano, although an important tourist centre, is a small town, with a population of about 7,000 people. It is just over 40 miles from the Tyrrhenian Sea, off the western coast of Italy.
San Gimignano has been declared by UNESCO, the United Nations cultural organization, part of the World’s Architectural Heritage.
