is first of all in an excellent location, a 3-star hotel in the heart of Venice, around the corner (a 3-minute walk) from St Mark’s Square, Doge’s Palace and Bridge of Sighs (Ponte dei Sospiri), a 5-minute walk from Rialto Bridge and the Museo Correr.
Second, what makes Hotel Montecarlo interesting is its history and style: the hotel is a 17th-century building only 50 yards from Piazza San Marco square, and has lovely interiors.

is on a canal-side location in Venice historic center in the San Marco district, 1 minute’s walk (100 yards) from the world-renowned La Fenice Theatre, 5 minutes’ walk from St. Mark’s Square, and yet it’s a good-value-for-money 3-star hotel.
You can reach the Grand Canal with a 6-minute walk in either direction from the hotel, as it runs around the Hotel Mercurio.
